CWC golfers started off the 2017-2018 season competing in a six team tournament in Torrington, WY.

The men's team got off to a good start, as they finished opening day in 2nd place but ultimately ended the tournament in 3^rd place.  The men were led by Kaleb Spiva who tied for 4th place with 73-73 and 146, just 4 strokes out of first. Garret Phillips was just out of the top 10, finishing 11th overall with 77-78 and 155.

The women's team finished in 2^nd place and were led by Samalie Prom, who won the tournament as an individual with 93-90 and 183. Other top ten finishers were Tara Cottrill (4^th) with 100-114 and 214 and Kaylee Smith (10^th) with 125-114 and 239. Ariana Curtis finished just out of the top ten in 11^th place with 155-134 and 289.

"We played good for our first tournament, not our best but decent. I felt like we had a strong showing from Kaleb Spiva and Garret Phillips on the men's side, both keeping their scores in the 70's. And on the women's side, you can't ask for more from freshman Samalie Prom on a win in her first tournament. We still have a ways to go with our team, but everyone is engaged in practice and have the attitude that we will get better and post some team wins." -Coach Holgate
