Golf Results from Northeastern Junior College

The men's and women's golf team traveled to Sterling, CO over the weekend to compete at a tournament at Northeastern Junior College.

The standouts for the week were Freshman Jorden James who finished with a two day total of +1 over par with a great round of 68 on Friday. This score tied Jorden for 4th place.  James Bisiar, who had his best tournament this year with +2 over par for his two day total, finished tied for 6th. Dawson Ritt had a rough start on Thursday, but came back with a solid 74 +2 over par on Friday.  The Rustler Men finished 3rd and had their best one day total of 292 on Friday.  "I was very proud of the way they stayed focused and came back on Friday and put down a great team score," said Coach Holgate.

Leading the way for the Lady Rustlers was Sam Prom who won her 3rd tournament of the year with a final round of 77.  Mason Jacobson followed Samalie 3 shots back to get 2nd place, and Alexis Cornell finished 3rd.  All three ladies played very well, but unfortunately, the hopes of an undefeated season were dashed as Nicholynne Garbutt got sick in the middle of her round and had to withdraw from the tournament, leaving us short one player to post a team score.  "I felt this was our best tournament as a golf team.  Both men and women played solid golf." -Coach Holgate

Due to forcasted weather, the Rustlers will head to La Junta, CO this weekend instead of Eastern Wyoming.
