Bio

Mike Neuman comes to Central Wyoming College in his first year of coaching at the collegiate level. After a long career in the corporate world, Coach Neuman chased a dream to become a PGA Golf Professional. Paradise Valley Country Club in Casper, WY provided the first step in becoming a PGA Professional as the Assistant Head Pro for PGA Professional Bruce Johnston. Just two years into the new profession Riverton Country Club was looking for a PGA Head Professional. After not much deliberation Mike was headed to Riverton. While in the process of taking the Riverton Country Club position the opportunity to become a Head Coach at CWC presented itself. It was an opportunity that could not be passed on.

While new to coaching at the college level, Coach Neuman is not new to coaching. Casper Country Club provided the first opportunity to teach/coach the game of golf, assisting the junior program with PGA Professional Bob O’Neill. Kelly Walsh High School was an important step as he assisted Head Coach Craig Marsh, BHSU Women’s Golf Coach. During his time at Casper Country Club and Kelly Walsh High School, Coach Neuman had the privilege of helping shape many young athletes including four Wyoming High School Boy’s Team State Titles, six Wyoming High School Girl’s State Titles, and seven Wyoming High School Individual Boy’s & Girl’s State Titles. Coach Neuman also had the privilege of taking five Kelly Walsh High School teams to High School National Championship events, where in 2018 the Boy’s team finished 7th in the nation.

Coach Neuman looks to use the success from the past to drive CWC Golf to become a premier Junior College golf program in the country. Using golf to help young athletes become better golfers, great students, and exceptional people. Building relationships will be key to the success of the program and building a winning culture, not just in golf but in life.
