The Rustlers fell to Western Nebraska Community College (87-82) in a game where the Rustlers gained valuable experience that will help them down the stretch.  Central was trailing by 17 points in the first half, but battled back in the second half outscoring WNCC by 12 points.  Irshaad Hunte continues to shine as he went 10-14 from the floor scoring 22 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.  Devon Colley added 15 points, Henry Tanksley 14 and Romario Spence 13.  "This game was very much a tale of two halves.  Bottom line is we weren't ready to play from the start, and that's on me.  I have to figure out a way for us to be better.  I am proud of how we bounced back the second half and gave ourselves a chance to win the game, but we can't allow ourselves to get down 17 points and expect to win many games," said Coach Nelson.

"It's unfortunate, but sometimes teams can learn more from a loss than they can from a win.  If we learn and grow from this experience, then it was well worth it.  I told the guys that the beauty of an entire season is that this game is just one of 30 tests for us.  We have another opportunity tomorrow to bounce back and get back on the winning side of things," added Coach Nelson.

Central went to the line 52 times, beating Eastern Wyoming College, 106-102.  The Rustlers led in all areas of the game and had five Rustlers scoring in double figures.  Marquis White's aggressive play was rewarded with 15 attempts from the free throw line, scoring 21 points to lead the team.  Henry Tanksley had 21 points on 58% (7-12) shooting from the floor and 85% (6-7) from the line.  Tanksley also added 9 rebounds.  Devon Colley had an outstanding offensive night, scoring 20 points on 71% (5-7) shooting from the floor and 90% (9-10) from the line.  Irshaad Hunte continues to be a force on offense, as he had 13 rebounds and 13 points.  Romario Spence had it dialed in as he finished the night with 12 points on 83% (5-6) shooting from the field.

"It was important for us to bounce back from Friday nights loss with a good performance, and we did that for a majority of the game.  Credit to Eastern Wyoming for playing hard and competing for the full 40 minutes.  Although I am always happy to get a win, especially on the road, I am disappointed with how we finished the game.  We have to learn how to keep our focus and continue to play the right way the entire game.  I have no doubt that we have learned from this experience, though, and will be a better team because of it."  -Coach Nelson
