Rustler men bring home another road win

The Rustlers jumped out to an early 16-8 lead and were able to hold off a good first half run to defeat Laramie County Community College, 80-69.  LCCC took the lead (31-29) late in the first half, but Central regained a 37-34 lead at half, ultimately defeating a tough LCCC team.  The Rustlers were led again by the outstanding play of Irshaad Hunte, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Baris Ulker had 17 points, Henry Tanksley 15 and Marquis White 12.  Central continues their aggressive play as they outrebounded LCCC 49-34, and they hit 21 of their 28 free-throw attempts.

"I'm really proud of our guys.  Tonight was not an easy win, as it never is to go on the road and beat a good team.  It's also never easy to beat a team for the second time.  I thought we really rose to the challenge and came out very focused and ready to go.  Kind of like the CNCC game on Saturday, we opened up well and had a nice lead, but LCCC responded with a run of their own.  Our guys took their run and we stayed the course.  It's been a lot of fun watching us improve and take steps forward as a team.  I would say tonight was easily our best and most complete overall game we have played so far."  -Coach Nelson
