Rustler men split at home

The 11-4 Rustlers ended 2017 with a split at home, as they beat Eastern Wyoming College (100-78) and lost to Western Nebraska (85-103).  Every Rustler on the roster saw time against Eastern.  Colter Galante scored a game high with 22 points in 15 minutes.   Irshaad Hunte had another solid game with 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Marquis White added 15 points.

Central got off to a slow start against a red hot Western Nebraska team that hit 13 three pointers in the first half.  The Rustlers battled hard all game and cut the score to 5 in the second half, but just couldn't overcome the 18 point first half deficit.  Broc Finstuen led the way for CWC with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.  Other leaders were Henry Tanksley with 16 points, Irshaad Hunte with 11 points and 12 rebounds, Marquis White with 11 points and Jamison Washington with 10.

"As we head into the holiday break, I am happy with how well the men are playing.  Every game you see good solid play on both the offensive and defensive end, as well as opportunity for growth and improvement that seems to be right at their fingertips.  I am very excited to see what Coach Nelson and the guys do in 2018!"  -Dean of Students/Athletic Director, Steve Barlow
