Men lose tough one to Gillette

A slow start led to a tough loss for Central, as they fell to Gillette, 79-90.  While the Rustlers came out slow, they battled and competed like champions for the rest of the game.  The stat line shows an evenly matched contest with the nationally ranked (6th) Gillette team.

Leading the way for Central was Broc Finstuen with 20 points and 7 boards.  Other teammates with double digit points were Marquis White (19), Irshaad Hunte (12) and Baris Ulker (10).

"We have to figure out how to start games a little bit better.  It's three games in a row now that we have had that slow start, and as tonight showed, it's really difficult to battle back from that big of a deficit against really good teams.  That being said, I am extremely proud of our guys tonight.  Although there are no moral victories, I truly believe that we got better tonight.  Of all of our losses, tonight is the best that we have understood and execute our game plan.  If we can keep taking steps forward and improving as a team then I think the wins and losses will take care of themselves and we will be where we want to be come playoff time.  We will regroup and refocus and try to get back on the right track Saturday afternoon."  -Coach Nelson
