Rustlers Beat USU-E and CNCC; Lose to CSI

The Rustlers travelled to Twin Falls, ID to play Utah State-Eastern and the College of Southern Idaho this past weekend, and from there, travelled to Rangely, CO to play Colorado Northwestern.  They will be heading home, in a snow storm, with two wins and one loss.

Friday's win against USU-Eastern ended up a close one going into OT tied at 70.  The Rustlers would win the game, 85-79, outscoring USU-E in OT, 15-9.  Darius Guinn was the high scorer with 23 points.  Guinn also pulled down 6 rebounds, had 6 assists and 2 blocks.  Teammates Jacob Smith and Dave Francois had 15 points each.

The Rustlers turned around the next night to play the College of Southern Idaho at their house, and would end up losing 68-77.  Freshman Dave Francois would be the high scorer with 19 points.  Freshman Jaylon Gentry added 16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds to the Rustlers box score.  Darius Guinn had 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks and Jacob Smith added 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Central spent Sunday traveling from Idaho to Colorado to play against Colorado Northwestern in Rangely on Monday.  The Rustlers would end up coming away with a win over the Spartans (95-85), but would end up getting stuck in Colorado overnight due to a sever winter storm.  Sophomore James Woods would lead the Rustlers in scoring with 22 points.  Dave Francois added 18 points and Darius Guinn added another 17.  A total of 39 points were scored from reserves on the bench.  Jerroda Briscoe led Central in rebounds with 7 (2 offensive, 5 defensive).

Next Up:  Central will enjoy a short holiday break and then will host Northeastern Junior College on Wednesday, December 4th at 6:00pm.
