Rodeo Team takes 6th at CSC

The CWC Rodeo Team came out of the chute on September 15-17 in Chadron, Nebraska with both teams finishing in 6th place.  The women were led by Karson Bradley who finished 4th in barrels with a 34.20 average.  Deni Lou Nicholls was 3rd in the break away event (long go), but finished 6th in the short go, placing her 6th overall.

The men had a good showing in the steer wrestling event, as Thomas Davis finished in 1st, Brady Thurston 3rd and Taylor Davidson in 4th.  Davis also finished 6th in bareback while Hadley McCormick finished in 8th place in the team roping event.

"The weather played a critical role in the outcome of the rodeo, in some events more than others, which is part of rodeo and the team understands that. As a whole I'm not disappointed in the way that any of our kids performed but we are aware that we have some things to continue working on.  We are going to spend some time  breaking down each run and ride on film so the kids will see what to work on and how to fix it.  I was really impressed with the way a couple of our former High School State Champions stepped up and performed.  Freshman Karson Bradley from Big Piney placed 4th in the barrels while freshman Thomas Davis, who was the Chadron State College Rodeo Steer Wrestling Champion, placed 6th in the bareback riding which helped make him the reserve all-around cowboy for the rodeo." -Coach Drew Schrock
