EWC Rodeo Results

The Rustlers Rodeo Team traveled to Torrington, Wyoming this past weekend to compete in number seven out of ten regular season rodeos, and brought home one championship buckle when it was all over.

Karson Bradley not only took the honors of winning the Barrel Racing at the EWC Lancer Rodeo, but also took over the number one spot in the region after doing so.  She stopped the clock in the first round with a blistering 15.18 second run, placing first.  In the short round she placed second with a 15.39, but her total time on two of 30.57 was the fastest of the weekend.  The 170 points she gathered up also placed the CWC Women's team third for the rodeo.

On the Men's side the Rustlers had three Steer Wrestlers and one Team Roper representing them in the short round on Sunday afternoon.  Cole Trainor made it back in both events, winning the long round of the Steer Wrestling with a time of 4.4 and fourth in the Team Roping with a 8.0.  He received two no times in the short round, after his steer ducked in front of his hazer in the Steer Wrestling, and his header missed in the Team Roping.  Teammates Taylor Davidson and Nate Weyrich also made it back in the Steer Wrestling, Taylor was ninth with a 5.4 and Nate tenth with a 5.7.  Taylor placed placed fourth in the short round with a 8.0, and fourth overall with Nate right behind him with a time of 9.1, placing him fifth in both the short round and the average.

"It's really no surprise to me that Karson won it this past weekend," said Coach Schrock.  "She works hard at it every single day, has nice horses and rides really well, not to mention she has been going to Pro Rodeos all winter and has been placing against the best horses in the country.  It's unfortunate for Cole, he had a great long round, but due to circumstances that were out of his control he wasn't able to capitalize on it.  I know he will be back to practice with a great attitude, ready to get to work.  As for Taylor and Nate, it was good to see them come from the back of the pack and get some points in the short round and the average.  We have a weekend off before we go to CSU for the next one."
