The Rustler Rodeo Team traveled to Fort Collins, Colorado this past weekend for the Skyline Stampede Rodeo hosted by Colorado State University.  The outcome was a little unfavorable for the Rustlers, as they weren't able to capture any event or team titles.

On the women's team, Shaylee Adamson gathered up a few points in the long round of the Barrel Racing, splitting fourth and fifth with a time of 15.43, but followed it up with a 15.90 in the short round which dropped her to seventh in the average.

Nate Weyrich and Brady Thurston made it back to the short round for the men's team.  Nate placed fourth in the long round of the Steer Wrestling event with a 5.4 and split fourth and fifth in the short round with a 5.8 with a total time of 11.2, which also placed him fourth in the average on two head.  Brady Thurston spurred his first Saddle Bronc horse for 68 points which was good enough to get him back to the short round splitting eighth and ninth.  He then scored a 67 on his short round horse which placed him fourth in that round and moved him up to fifth in the average.

"This past weekend was a little disappointing," said Coach Schrock.  "I feel like they had some opportunities to do better, but weren't able to capitalize on them.  The timed event stock was outstanding and there were just too many mistakes in the field, from empty loops to not reading the score correctly which are mental issues.  We have two weeks of practice before we go to Casper to make adjustments."
