The CWC Rodeo Team traveled to Laramie, WY this past weekend to compete at the rodeo hosted by the University of Wyoming. The Rustlers had three qualifiers make it back, but none were able to stop the clock in the short round and fell down in the average.

For the second week in a row, sophomore Shelby Weltz made it back to the short round in the Goat Tying. She tied for tenth with a 7.3-second run but wasn't able to keep her short round goat tied for the required 6 seconds, and resulted in a no-time. Teammate Aubrey Berger made her first short-round appearance of the season after stopping the clock in 3.0 seconds in the Breakaway, which placed her ninth in the long round. Unfortunately, she missed catching her calf in the short round, resulting in a no-time, and dropped her to tenth in the average.

Men's team captain, Cole Trainor, placed fourth in the long round of the Steer Wrestling after stopping the clock in 5.3 seconds. He, too, had some tough luck and wasn't able to stop the clock in the short round, dropping him to ninth in the average.

"We obviously want to be winning more," said Coach Schrock. "To say that my coaching staff and I are proud of these kids, and their individual developments this season is an understatement. They impress us daily, from early morning workouts to their achievements in the classroom, in the practice pen, and attitude toward competing. They do the work on a daily basis and therefore they truly believe and deserve to win each and every time they nod their heads. Unfortunately, in the sport of rodeo, it doesn't always work that way because the livestock doesn't always allow that to happen. Mindset is crucial, be ready and able to win whenever the chance presents itself.  This team has done that from start to finish. We leave for our last regular-season rodeo this coming weekend, which is hosted by CSU, but will be held outdoors in Greeley, CO this Friday through Sunday."
