Poor shooting and foul trouble lead to Rustler loss

The Rustlers women's basketball team fell behind the Snow College Badgers early on Wednesday night in their home opener. The Rustlers lost 40-91 and connected on 17 of 63 field goals leading to their struggle to make runs to contend with the Badgers who shot 50 percent from the field for the night. The Rustlers shot 27 percent from the field, 19 percent from beyond the arc and 33 percent from the charity stripe with only six attempts for the game.

Two Rustlers scored in double figures and were lead by Wyoming Indian Alum, Amryn Brown, with 13 points on six for 11 shooting. With Alyzae Roberts one rebound shy of her second double-double, with 10 points and nine rebounds on five for seven shooting.

Brown started the game and was five for seven in the first half, but got into foul trouble early on in the second half. Brown picked up her fourth foul with eight minutes left in the third taking her to the bench until well into the fourth quarter.

"We are still struggling with chemistry offensively and defensively, and are still unsure who are our best six or seven players," said head coach Ken Swartz. "We need a lot of work in several strategic areas and don't have a lot of time to do it with as many games as we have in the next three weeks. Our effort is there we just have too many missed assignments and make bad decisions with the ball."

The Rustlers continue their season on the road Friday Nov. 10 in Powell, Wy where they will face Eastern Wyoming in the opening game of the First Bank Wyoming Shootout.
