Women split weekend with MCC and LBH

The lady Rustlers opened the weekend Friday night with a good team win against the Rams of Little Big Horn College. The Rustlers won 86-46.

The Rustlers outrebounded the rams 47-20 and every Rustler scored at least one point in the contest. Brenna Blaser lead the way for the Rustlers with a career high 20 points on five of seven from beyond the arc and pulled down six rebounds. Brayle Crosman chipped in 10 points going five for nine from the field.

"This was a good win," said head coach Ken Swartz. "Our bench played most of the game, which allowed our starters to get some rest for tomorrow's game against Miles. We shot very well tonight, Brenna shot the ball very well tonight which was good to see. Marissa, Amanda, Brayle and Megan all had outstanding games tonight. Now we have a monumental task ahead of us with Miles City who is 17-4."

Less than 24 hours later the Rustlers tipped off against Miles City. The Rustlers battled the entire game but came up short losing to Miles, 76-55.

The Rustlers ended the night shooting 32 percent from the field connecting on 21 of their 65 attempts, 22 percent from beyond the arc and 58 percent from the free throw line. The Rustlers were lead by Paulani Tarawa with 16 points and eight rebounds. Marissa Arnold and Brayle Crosman continued their efforts from the previous night with Arnold netting 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds; Crosman had nine points and seven rebounds for the night.

"The girls played their hearts out, but we just didn't shoot well and turned the ball over too much," said head coach Ken Swartz. "I am really proud of their effort, they didn't quit when they got down they just kept battling."

The Rustlers finish out the first round of sub region play on the road Wednesday against Western Wyoming.
