Women drop one at Western

The Rustlers traveled to Rock Springs Wednesday evening to play Region IX opponent, Western Wyoming. The Rustlers fell to the Mustangs 77-69.

The lady Rustlers started the game out strong, but the Mustangs came back being down nine in the first quarter. The Rustlers went into halftime down nine 44-35.

The Rustlers came out of half time and cut the Mustangs lead to three within a minute forcing a Mustang timeout. Coming out of the timeout the Mustangs pulled away again and continued their roll to defeat the Rustlers 77-69.

The Rustlers were lead by Paulani Tarawa with 20 points and six rebounds. Marissa Arnold chipped in 15 with Brayle Crosman putting up 14. Alyzae Roberts added in six points and six rebounds in 10 minutes of play.

"This is a very disappointing loss," said head coach Ken Swartz. "This game was a must win if we want to have a good shot at post season play."

The Rustlers continue their season at home versus Sheridan Saturday at 2pm.
