Lady Rustlers fall to Northwest

The Rustlers struggled all night Wednesday with the tough and in your face defense of the Trappers, and lost 82-57 in the Region IX matchup.

The Rustlers were lead by Marissa Arnold with 22 points on nine of 14 shooting. Arnold was the only Rustler to score in double figures with Brayle Crosman chipping in seven and Alyzae Roberts and Paulani Tarawa putting up six a piece. Roberts also had a team high seven rebounds.

Northwest really clamped on the pressure in the first half resulting in 20 turnovers for the Rustlers at halftime. The Trappers came out and pressured the Rustlers forcing 16 more Rustler turnovers for a season high 36 for the game.

The Rustlers shot 43 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free throw line missing six of their 17 attempts.

"This was a very poorly played game on our part in the second half, their pressure really got to us in the second half," said head coach Ken Swartz. "Marissa Arnold had an outstanding game on both ends of the court, and Alyzae Roberts did some really good things as well."

The Rustlers continue their season on the road at Gillette Saturday at 2pm.
