Lady Rustlers 1-1 at Bailey Tire and Auto Service Classic

The Lady Rustlers went 1-1 this weekend at their home tournament sponsored by Bailey Tire and Auto Service, making their record 5-6. The Lady Rustlers had their first home game against Utah State Eastern which they lost 62-58. Your Lady Rustlers won their second home game beating Colorado Northwestern, 96 to 62.   

The first game was against Utah State Eastern and the Lady Rustlers put up a great fight, but fail short by just a few points losing 62 to 58. The leading scorer was sophomore Paulani Tarawa with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. The second leading scorer was sophomore Rylee Burmester with 16 points and 7 rebounds.    

The Lady Rustlers got their first home win against Colorado Northwestern, 96 to 62. The Lady Rustlers had three players in double digits and one player with a double double. They also forced a stifling 25 steals and had 27 assists. Sophomore Rylee Burmester was the leading scorer and also had a double-double, with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore Paulani Tarawa had 14 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Freshmen Essy Latu ended with 13 points and 5 rebounds. The Lady Rustlers will take on Colorado Northwestern again on the road Tuesday, December 4th at 5:00pm. 

"It was nice to finally have home games and to not be on the road for once. Our crowd was absolutely AMAZING. It was nice to have them backing us up. I highly believe that they kept us in the game against USU-E and helped us play well against CNCC. The team improved in a lot of areas defensively and team ball wise.  We just have to continue playing this way for the rest of the year." – Coach Fearing
