CWC women's basketball saw their season end with a 69-60 loss at LCCC in the Region 9 play-in game Friday night.

Central trailed almost the entire game by 7 to 12 points.  They did manage to get with in 2 with a couple minutes, but were outscored by the Golden Eagles down the stretch and fell by 9.  LCCC wins all three match ups with Central this season and have 9 in a row.  It's the second time in 6 days LCCC has beaten CWC.  Central ends the season losing 8 of their last 10 games.

Playing with out leading scorer Paulani Tarawa, who was out for disciplinary reasons, Essy Latu scored 22 points hitting a trio of three's.  She also had 5 assists. Rylee Burmester added 13 and went 3-4 from the free throw line.  Burmester had 16 rebounds.  She ended her CWC career making the most free throws by a Rustler in modern day history and made 24 of her last 25 free throws.   She also ends up third on the modern day rebounding stats.  Tamia Cutignola scored 11 and Megan Krahenbuhl scored 10.

After the game, coach Lindsey Fearing, "We fought till the end.. We just didn't have enough time to get the job done.  These sophomores are a group that I will never forget.  They will always be my first goup."
