Runners Compete at Chadron State

The Rustler men and women competed against Chadron and South Dakota School of Mines in Chadron, Nebraska on September 9th.

Lukas Mathew led the way for the Rustlers, in the men's 8k race, with a time of 28:48 and Zack Relf finished under 30 minutes with a time of 29:37. Coach Lara is pleased with the team's progress early in the season saying, "the team is showing big improvements early in the season, as they are learning how to run the 8k compared to the 5k they ran in high school." 

Central's, Jessica Stewart, led the Rustlers in the women's 5k race with a time of 23:02.  CWC finished the meet in third place, falling to School of Mines who finished second and Chadron State who finished first.

Other finisher's for the men were Erick Nkunzimana (30:34), Dominic Twomey (31:14), Duncan Makin (34:21) and Brayden Wirick (39:07).

Women finishers were Breanna Beaslin (24:03), Rebekah Hutchison (24:45), Sienna Schuler (25:07) and Jessilyn Monahan (25:50).

Next up for the Rustlers is the "Battle of the Borders" at Montana State University-Northern on September 23rd.
