Cross Country team brings home hardware

The Rustler Cross Country Team won the Battle of the Borders as they competed against Montana State University-Northern in Havre, Montana.  In the women's 5K race Central's top finishers were Breanna Beaslin placing 3rd with a time of 22:09; Jessica Stewart placing 4th with a time of 22:33; Jessilyn Monahan placing 5th with a time of 22:48; Rebekah Hutchinson placing 7th with a time of 22:58, and Sienna Schuler placing 8th with a time of 23:37. 

Rustler, Lukas Mathews, ran to first place by finishing just .01 seconds ahead of MSU-N's Luke Karnauskas.  Other top finishers were Zachary Relf placing 3rd with a time of 28:19; Dominic Twomey placing 6th with a time of 29:02; Erick Nkunzimana placing 7th with a time of 29:19 and Brayden Wirick placing 11th with a time of 34:12.

"This was great meet for our team, as they competed well on the road and came home with the hardware.  Cross Country athletes do not always receive the recognition they should and I am just extremely proud of them and the job that Coach Lara is doing,"  said Steve Barlow (Dean of Students/AD).
