Rustlers Compete in First Dual of the Season

The men's and women's cross country team traveled to Valentine, NE over the weekend to compete in a dual against Southeast Community College.  This was the third time the Rustlers have competed against the Storm.

Unfortunately, due to injuries and international recruits not making it to the states, Southeast did not have women's team to compete against.  Coach Lara stated, "We still wanted to go forward with the race without knowing if we might have a shorter season."  Trysta Stingley won the girls race and set a new course record by 22 seconds with a time of 21:06.

In the men's race CWC had four runners who beat the old course record which was set last year by Southeast runner, Nelson Kemboi (28:20).  Kemboi made the All-American Team at Nationals last season.  Freshman, James Caldwell from Lovell, WY now holds the course record with a time of 27:28.

Other Results:

Women - Scarlett Sisemore (22:28), Twila Estrada (23:01), Cynthia St. Clair (23:42) and Tanisha Clair (26:18).

Men - Jayden Yates (27:32), Kameron Brough (27:40), Kenyion Townsend (27:42), Jarom Herring (28:40), Darien Barraza (31:12).

Next Up:  The Rustlers will head to Carr, CO this Saturday to compete in a dual against Colorado Mountain College.
