Weekend Recap

The 13th ranked Rustler Volleyball team ran their Region IX win streak to three with a four-set win over Northwest on Friday.  Kenzie Templeton tallied 26 kills, the second most of the season for her, while Missy Mortenson had 5 blocks.  Kenzie is 10 kills away from #3 on the all-time Rustler list.  #3 Sage Bearnson tallied 700 kills in her two years, #2 Nan Hokafonu had 709,  #1 Nicole Merrill holds the top spot with 803.  Templeton is 113 kills away from that top mark and is currently 10th in the country in kills per set.

Alondra Hernandez is now 2nd in all-time digs for Central.  She has 884 which is one more than Jess Foy Kohler for the #2 spot.  Hernandez is just 33 digs from tying the all-time mark set by Chaisley Gill Jacks at 917 set in the 2007-2008 seasons at Central.  Hernandez is 24th in the nation in digs per set.

CWC Volleyball's record is 13 and 5 overall, ranked 13th in the country with a new poll due out Monday.  More importantly, they are 3-0 in league play after three road games to start Region 9 North play.  They are finally at home Wednesday at 6pm hosting Casper College for Pink night.

Golf resumed for Central's men and women.  The ladies picked up where they left off taking the first four spots.  Elly LeBlanc was the medallist with Aubree Johnson just one stroke back in 2nd.  Lexi Cornell finished third just two strokes back of the leader.   Trevor Berry tied for 16th to lead the men to another fourth-place finish.  Golfers wrap up the fall portion of their season at Otero this Thursday and Friday.

Soccer played host to Laramie County Community College on Saturday.  The visiting Golden Eagles posted a pair of shutouts on our home teams.  The Central men fell 2-0 while the women lost 3-0.  CWC teams are back on the field Wednesday at Northwest College in Powell, WY.  The CWC women will play five matches in an 11 day period to end the regular season.  With Western Wyoming only having a women's program, there are five matches left for the women, and only four for the men in regular-season play.  The women will host Western Wyoming on Friday, October 8th at 1pm at the CWC Soccer Fields.
