The CWC Women's Golf Team started the year off just like they left off last year, winning their first tournament of the season held at the Riverton Country Club.  Rustler Kyra Sponenburgh dominated the course finishing in first place shooting 84-79, 163.  Teammates Rosslyn Brownell finished in 2^nd place with 87-99,186, Alexis Cornell shot 93-95, 188 to finish 4^th and Jordan Vanetti finished 6^th with 97-102, 199.  "With just one returner back this season it is very exciting to see the women's team pick up right where they left off last year.  I am looking forward to seeing what they will accomplish this year!" stated CWC Dean of Students Steve Barlow.

Jose Galarza shot 83-90, 173 to lead the men's team to a 5^th place finish at the tournament.  Other scorers for CWC were Branden Pohawpatchoko 89-84, 173, Kyle Phister 87-94, 181 and Dominic D'Anzi 87-94, 181.  "The men didn't play their best by far this weekend.  Their attitudes are great, we know we have some work to do and I promise you this group of guys will continue to show up to play and practice and get better."  -Coach Holgate.
