New Interim Head Coach for Golf

New Interim Head Coach for Golf

Central Wyoming College golf is back on the course.  The Rustler Men and Women have embarked on the Spring portion of their 21-22 schedule with a new interim coach.  Jorden James has been tabbed as the Interim Head Golf Coach for CWC.

James recently graduated from The University of Wyoming with a Kinesiology degree and is currently on standby to attend Physical Therapy School.  He golfed for CWC in 2018 after finishing 3rd overall at State Golf his senior year of high school in Riverton.  He was a part of three State Championship teams.  James also represented Wyoming at the Junior America's Cup in 2017.

"I have always had a passion and love for the game of golf, and almost greater, I love the competition that the game brings at the college level.  That is why I am coaching at CWC because I enjoy the competition, and striving with the players to improve every week," James said.

He has volunteered for minor coaching roles at the high school level and continues to play competitively at the amateur level.

Despite his career goals, he hopes to continue coaching expressing, "Someday after school, I may begin coaching again.  I like being a part of the community and helping others reach their goals."

A search for a new golf coach is underway for Central.  That position will begin in the fall.  In the meantime, James will take the Rustlers to events in Colorado and Wyoming this spring in hopes of qualifying for the NJCAA Nationals.  The CWC women are unbeaten on the season so far while the men are trying to move up the standings.

The Rustler men will host a tournament in late April at the Riverton Country Club.  See the complete schedule and more from Rustler golf at rustlerathletics.com.
