Rustlers place first in men's and women's tournaments at Otero
The CWC Golf Teams traveled to La Junta, CO last Thursday and Friday to compete at the Otero Junior Golf Tournament.  It was an exciting weekend for CWC golf! For the first time in recent memory, and maybe ever, Rustlers finished first individually in both the men's and women's tournaments!

Hunter Hall shot even par (70) on Thursday despite several bad breaks. He came back very strong on Friday and shot a four-under (66) to take the individual title by one.

Three lady Rustlers jumped out of the box in a big way on Thursday. Bridgette Volk shot 76, Taylor Butler shot 78 and Cambree Crowther shot 79!  Scores were a little higher for the women on Friday but Bridgette held on with an 80 for a total of 156 to win the women's individual title!  Cambree also shot 80 on Friday and got second place, finishing only three shots behind Bridgette!  The lady Rustlers maintained their winning ways, getting back into form and beating Otero Junior college by 17 shots.

The Rustler men continue to work on putting two good rounds together and finished fourth out of the six teams, however, things were much tighter this time and the men only lost out by about 20 shots over two days.

Both teams have one more fall tournament, next week in Lamar, Colorado.  Head Coach Collin Hopkins said, "We hope to have a strong showing there and both of these teams are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Spring!"
