Bio
Jacob South joined the Central Wyoming College Athletic Department staff in July 2024 as the Assistant Director of Athletics & Student Life.
South grew up in Anacortes, Washington, and fell in love with sports from a very young age. He excelled in baseball, basketball and football all throughout highschool, and earned himself a full-ride scholarship to play football at Utah State University. While playing for the Aggies, he started in 26 out of the 36 career games he appeared in across five seasons, and logged over 1700 offensive snaps. He also received Academic All-Mountain West Honors in 2020, 2021 & 2022.
South helped lead the Utah State to a Mountain West Championship in 2021, as well as Bowl Game appearances in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, with victories in the New Mexico Bowl (2018) and LA Bowl (2021).
South graduated from USU in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism with a Minor in Business, and received his Master's Degree in Sports Management from Utah State University in 2023. He also possesses a Registered Athletic Administrator certification through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
He believes sports plays an integral part in developing important life and social skills, as well as shaping moral values of young student-athletes.
South is married to his wife, Aidan.
