Wednesday’s Results; Rustler Basketball vs Eastern

The Rustlers traveled to Torrington, WY on Wednesday, March 3rd, to play Eastern Wyoming College. Central started off the game in decent shape, ending the first half only down by seven points (35-28). The Rustlers continued to keep the score within a 10 point difference throughout most of the game, but couldn't get ahead of Eastern Wyoming in the end. Central, unfortunately, fell to Eastern 66-74. This leaves the Rustlers at an overall 2-9 record and a 1-2 conference record.

Freshmen Jaylen Searles and A'Jahni Levias were the leading scorers for CWC, Searles contributed 20 points, with Levias not far behind him scoring 18 points against Eastern. A'Jahni Levias also played well defensively, with nine defensive rebounds out of his 11 total. Freshman Abdi Dahir also stood out with eight defensive rebounds out of his 10 total.  "What a quality college basketball game to be part of.  Our guys played hard, played tough, and made some huge plays.  Unfortunately, we had another one of our 4-5 minute scoring droughts costing us momentum and ultimately the game.  We are continuing to improve which is the key.  Hopefully, the winning is coming.  Back to work for us as we prepare for our game against Casper." - Coach Schmit

Up Next:  Central will host Casper College this Saturday, March 6th at 4:00PM MST.
