Lopsided Results Lead to Rustlers 1-1 Weekend
The CWC Men's basketball team traveled to Salt Lake Community College this past weekend for back-to-back games against Real Salt Lake Post Grad and Salt Lake Community College. Both games had lopsided results with CWC taking the first game against Real Salt Lake, 87-67, and getting blown out against Salt Lake CC, the number 2 team in the country, by 30 points; 69-99. "The entire season our play has been inconsistent. Individual players have been up and down along with our team's performance. This weekend was another example of this."

Bright spots from the weekend included the play of Lorence Dela Cruz who led the Rustlers in scoring for both contests, totaling 19 points against Real Salt Lake and 20 points against Salt Lake CC. Niieihii Black kept up his stellar play averaging 16 points and 6.5 rebounds over the two games. One other standout performance included Lucas Engle going for 9 points and 6 rebounds against Salt Lake CC.

"Getting Lorence back playing at a high level was the best thing that came from the weekend. He is a difference-maker for us and he needs to continue this level of play if we are going to reach our full potential. Black has been a consistent stud for us. Engle is getting better daily and it showed this weekend with his performance against one of the best teams in the country," commented Schmit.

The Rustlers have a busy finals week with a HOME GAME against Colorado Northwestern on Wednesday, December 7th at 5:30 PM then traveling to Sterling, CO for the Region 9 crossover event on December 9-10.
