2nd Half Comeback Falls Short, Men Lose 82-87
CWC basketball hit the road on Saturday to play at Northwest College. Northwest is leading Region 9 North at 3-0 and is the only undefeated team left in the region. Unfortunately, the Rustlers could not add an "L" to the Trappers' record.

The first half saw the home Trappers light up the nets. Shooting 10-13 from 3's taking a commanding 51-39 lead. "Props to them for making all the wide-open shots they got on us. We were not flying around causing them any issues which led to their hot shooting," commented Coach Schmit.

The second half saw CWC battle back to take a lead with 10 minutes to play. The remainder of the game was highly contested with multiple lead changes and swings in momentum.  A few timely calls, turnovers, and missed shots by the Rustlers were all it took for Northwest to secure the win by the final margin of 87-82. "The game is 40 minutes long, but once the under 4:00 mark hits every play gets magnified. At that juncture in the game, they made more plays than us," Coach Schmit said.

Javonne Nesbit led the team in scoring (19), rebounding (11), and assists (3).

The team is back in action on Friday, February 10 as they travel to Torrington to play Eastern Wyoming College.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm MST.
