2023-24 Rustler Squad includes nine incoming players and five returners

Head coach Brad Schmit has announced the addition of nine players who will be attending Central Wyoming College and playing basketball for the Rustlers. They join five returners from the 2022-2023 team that saw the Rustlers finish the season 18-12.

"Identifying the right type of student-athlete was my number 1 priority with this year's class. We have a unique junior college culture that doesn't fit everyone. I feel we have brought in players that are not only capable of excelling on the court but embody who we are as a program," commented Coach Schmit on the new additions to the team.

King Solomon 6'0"-Guard-Sacramento, CA-College Prep Academy
King comes to CWC after a post-grad season at College Prep Academy. He graduated from Liberty HS in Las Vegas, NV where he won a state championship his senior season. King is a modern-age guard who can play the point guard and shooting guard positions.

Sam Marbury 6'6"-Forward-Cleveland, OH-Spire Academy
Sam is a decorated player who played on one of the best post-grad teams in the country last season. His Spire team won over 30 games, sent multiple players DI, and coached at a very high level.

Caleb Cole-6'7"-Forward-North Cheyenne Indian Reservation-Lockwood HS
"Caleb played for a close coaching buddy of mine and fits the type of player we are looking for raw, tons of upside, and a passion for hoops. Fans are going to love watching him play with his athleticism, energy, and toughness." quoted Coach Schmit.

Bradley Beemon-6'2"-Point Guard-Fishers, IN-Midland College Transfer
Bradley is a third-year college player after attending Midland College for his first two seasons. He joins the Rustlers after getting his AA and developing under former CWC coach, Pat Rafferty.

Jay Voliva-6'2"-Guard-Anchorage, AK-Impact Academy
Jay makes his way to Riverton via multiple post-grad stops with the most recent one being at Impact Academy in Las Vegas. Similar to former Rustler, Jaren Miller, Jay joins the program as a lefty guard who attacks the basket, loves to compete, and is low maintenance.

Ryan Wells-6'3"-Guard-Dubois, WY-Dubois HS
"We always need to attract the best players from Fremont County. We have been blessed over the previous handful of years coaching Treyton Paxton, Jared Lucas, Lucas Engle, Niieihii Black, and now Ryan Wells. Ryan has all the tools to become a good college basketball player.  "I look forward to working with him on his development," commented Coach Schmit.

Taye Hollins-6'4"-Guard/Forward- Roseville, CA-Woodcreek HS
Elite shooting and defense is what Taye will bring to the CWC program. Taye led his team to a 20-win season while being voted a 1st team all-conference performer knocking down roughly 2.5 three-point shots a game.

Salameh Dugum-Maraboto-6'3"-Guard- Northridge, CA-Long Beach HS
"Sometimes I see a player with my own eyes and trust the evaluation. Other times a former coaching buddy or handler contacts me about a player. For Salameh, I never saw him play live, but I know his AAU coach who would only recommend Salameh if he fit me. Kid plays at great pace, is a high-level passer, and loves hoops." Coach Schmit explained how Salameh ended up on campus.

Vince Tedeschi-6'3" Guard-Phoenix, AZ-Bella Vista Prep
Vince comes off a huge season playing at Bella Vista Prep: the same program that produced current Rustlers, Julian Roberts and Jayden Warren. After averaging over 20 PPG, Vince will bring his explosive scoring abilities and chip-on-the-shoulder mindset to CWC.

Fans won't have to wait long to see the new Rustler squad. The first game of the season will be at home on November 1st against Salt Lake Community College.
