Men's Soccer Wraps Spring Season Up in Powell

In a challenging Spring Season exhibition match at Powell, Wyoming, the men's soccer team of Central Wyoming College faced a tough defeat against Northwest College's Trappers on April 19. The Rustlers, unable to contain the offensive prowess of their opponents, fell 4-0 by the final whistle.

The match saw the Trappers dominating early on, exploiting mistakes from the Rustlers' defense to establish a 3-0 lead by halftime. Central's efforts to rally were further hampered by an own goal during a set piece situation, concluding the match at a 4-0 deficit.

Central's goalkeeper, Stanley Schumann, despite the scoreline, was a standout performer, making several key saves that prevented an even greater margin. Head Coach Marcus Horwood reflected on the match, noting, "The guys battled hard and played our style of football for most of the first half. Mistakes were punished by a strong opponent, and despite a great performance by Stanley in goal, we conceded crucial goals. I'm proud of the team and grateful for the contributions of the sophomores."
