Men's Soccer Extends Winning Streak to 4, Round Season Out This Week
The Central Wyoming College Rustlers demonstrated outstanding performance in their recent soccer games against Western Nebraska Community College and Laramie County Community College on October 3 and 4, 2025, respectively. Playing as the visiting team, the Rustlers managed to clinch narrow 1-0 victories on both days, enhancing their season record to 6-5-1.
On October 3, in Scottsbluff, NE, both teams were unable to score in the first half, keeping the game intensely competitive with a 0-0 score at halftime. The breakthrough came when Drake Terra, assisted by Davide Daveri and Josh Bromwell, netted the winning goal for the Rustlers. Justin Vaurs, the goalkeeper, played a crucial role in preserving the lead with his robust defensive skills.
The following day in Cheyenne, WY, saw a similarly challenging match against the Golden Eagles. The score was stagnant at 0-0 by halftime, but the tension broke when Leonidas Papanikolaou scored from a penalty kick, once again securing a 1-0 win for the Rustlers. Papanikolaou's performance earned him additional recognition for his decisive goal. Goalkeeper Justin Vaurs continued his form, contributing significantly to the team's success.
Looking ahead, the Rustlers ride a four game win streak into matchups against Northeastern Junior College and Lamar Community College on October 10 & 11, in Riverton, WY, respectively.
