Bio

Benjamin Nelson was recently named the Head Coach for the Central Wyoming women’s woccer Team. Before, Nelson was previously the assistant coach of both the men's and women's programs. 

Nelson was raised in Ammon, Idaho and went on to play soccer at Central Wyoming College for his entire collegiate career. As a player, he participated in the 2020-2021 and 2023-2024 season. Nelson was also a part of the first men’s soccer team at CWC to make the playoffs. After his playing career, he joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach position for the mens and womens soccer programs. Nelson occupied the role for the Fall 2024 season before he was named the Interim Head coach following the departure of the previous head coach. As an assistant coach, Nelson helped lead the men’s soccer team to a playoff appearance in 2024, and coached a player that was top 10 nationally-ranked, along with helping develop other players to their full potential. 

“I believe that hard work, dedication, and discipline are the keys to achieving success. My goal as a coach is to help players grow both on and off the field, and empower them to become leaders in every aspect of their lives.”

Nelson has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management and an Associate’s in Business Administration from CWC. Nelson also has participated in University of Utah and BYU soccer camps in 2023.

Nelson is married to his wife, Alora, who also works at CWC. He is also the proud owner of two businesses; Top Tier Ties and Caravan Cones. Nelson also served a two-year LDS mission in Brownsville, Texas, from 2021-2023.
