Two Rustlers set new course records over the weekend
Central's cross country teams traveled to Colorado Mountain College over the weekend; setting two new course records!

The women's team solidified their victory with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finish and a total score of 20 points during the race.  Freshman KayKay Sandall led the way setting a new course record with a time of 23:52.00.

Kaykay said after the race, "I felt like this race went pretty well. We all went out and competed hard. The course had lots of climbs, but even though the course was tough, it was on a trail in the trees and was really fun."

Women's Placings:  KayKay Sandall (1), LaRissa McElroy (2), Jessica White (3), Monroe Swain (6), Abby Gribowskas (8)

The men's team had a record day beating Colorado Mountain College for the first time in program history, 26-29! With great leadership sophomore, Luke Crossley lead the way with a new course record with a time of 30:23.00.  Luke stated after the race, "Racing at 10,000 feet comes with challenges but both our men's and women's teams stepped up to the challenge and delivered strong races. I'm proud to be a part of this team and of both races we were able to win this weekend."

Men's Placings:  Luke Crossley (1), Mitch Johnson (4), Christian Corona (7), Gabe Villalobos (8), Quinten Gasaway (11)

Head Coach Rick Faure was very pleased with his team stating, "This victory took everyone to do their part and that is exactly what they did. BIG shout out to Christian Corona for having his best race."

The Rustlers will head to Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday (October 1st) to compete at the Ted Castaneda Classic.
