LCCC Rodeo Results
The Rustlers traveled to Cheyenne this past weekend to compete at the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo hosted by the LCCC Rodeo Team. Again, like last year, the Rodeo Coach for LCCC, Seth Glause, made accommodations with the Cheyenne Frontier Days Committee to let the region use the historical arena at Frontier Park. The competition was fierce and after it was all over the Rustlers Men's team ended up 4th.

The Freshman duo from Idaho, Jett VanBiezen, and Ryn Severe led the way after gathering up 110 points apiece in the Team Roping. They placed 2nd in the long round, stopping the clock in 7.8 seconds. Unfortunately, they received a 5-second penalty in the short round for only roping one leg giving them a 13.4-second run, and a total time of 21.2 on two. They ended up fourth in the short round and fourth in the average. Gage Gregersen, also from Idaho, placed 6th in the average in Steer Wrestling. His time of 7.4 in the long round was 4th fastest, but he too had a penalty in the short round for breaking the barrier. This cost him getting 10 seconds added onto his time, giving him a 22.2 in the round for 6th place and a 29.6 on two head. He gathered up 50 points for himself and the Rustlers Men's team. Kall Mayfield, of Wyoming, finished 7th in the Tiedown roping after making it back in a 3-way tie for 10th in the long round with a 12.7-second run, and a 17.2 in the short round.

"I am really pleased with the way the whole team performed at their first rodeo of the season, especially the freshmen guys," said Coach Drew Schrock. "Frontier Park has its own challenges for the simple fact that the arena is so big and the score on the cattle is longer. We have some things we want to work on this week but nothing major, so our week will look pretty typical for this time of year. 6:00 am workouts, class, and practice from 4:00 till 8:00. We leave for Chadron on Friday. You can follow the team and see our Platinum Sponsors on the CWC Rodeo Facebook and Instagram Pages."
