Sheridan Rodeo Results

The Rustlers traveled to Sheridan to compete at the Pat Hamilton Memorial College Rodeo hosted by the Sheridan College Rodeo Team. After two days of long-round competition, the Rustlers had two cowboys representing them in the short round on Championship Sunday.

Freshman Jett VanBeizen from Twin Falls, Idaho led the way for the Rustlers for the second time this fall, placing sixth in the tiedown event. He made it back to the short round after tying his long round calf in 11.2 seconds, qualifying him in a tie for 10th-12th. He followed that up with a 15.7 second run in the short round that was fast enough to place him fifth in the short round and sixth in the average. Kade Williams from Boulder, Wyoming made it back to the short round in the Steer Wrestling after tipping his long round steer in 12.3 seconds. He received a no-time in the short round placing him tenth overall for the weekend.

"It was a rough weekend for us," said Coach Schrock. "We only got two back to the short round but had four place just shy of making it to the short round. This is a very talented team that knows how to win but the stock that is drawn to compete on is a major factor in the outcome. This fall we have seen a wide array of differences in the cattle that have resulted in some tough luck. We do have a few things to work on fundamentally this week, but mainly I want to reiterate to the team to not fight their heads. They are having solid practices and making good runs at the rodeo, and just need to be ready to win when the time and draw present themselves. We are at home this upcoming weekend, so it will be nice not having to travel, and also have our hometown crowd cheer them on."
