Lady Rustlers Lose by 2 to Northwest College

Central Wyoming loses to Northwest in an emotional half second of play at home Wednesday night. The Rustlers came back from the largest defect of 12 but still came up short in the final minutes. With the game being back and forth, the score was tied 5 times prompting 9 lead changes. 

Final Score: Central - 56 Northwest - 58

Records: Central (4-13, 0-5 Region IX) Northwest (11-10, 2-5 Region 1X)

Players of the Game: 

Essy Latu had a game-high of 27 points, field goal shooting at 47%.

Kailiana Ramos scored 13 points, going 5-6 from the free throw line.

Abigale Sparks & Hayley Cotter grabbed huge rebounds for the Rustlers at 12 a piece.    

By The Numbers:

Northwest and Central took close to the same number of shots on the game. Central shot a higher percentage at 36% (21-57) while Northwest shot 31% (18-58). From the arc northwest connect on 9 shots while Central with only 3. Northwest held an edge in total rebounds grabbing 45 compared to 36 from Central. In the final minutes, free throws mattered the most. Central had a chance to knock down two but missed both, then Norwest came down and connected on their two, the game was over.
