Week 1 Recap

Lady Rustlers played in their first games of the season in Twin Falls, ID at College of Southern Idaho. The first game Friday night was a fun one to watch against #23 CSI. The lady Rustlers started down 7-2 in the first opening minutes but went on a run on 10-1 run in the last 3 minutes of the second quarter to end the first half down 21-22. The game continued to go back and forth until the last 3 minutes of the third quarter when CSI went on a run that the Lady Rustlers couldn't come back from. The score was not indicative of how the game was played and how well the lady Rustlers competed. The score ended 39-60 with Livia Knapp leading the scoring column with 11 points and 5 rebounds, Alexxis Motisi 2 points short from a double-double with 8 points and 14 rebounds, and Alex Terrazas with 8 points.

The second night of the CSI tournament was a great bounce-back game for the Lady Rustlers. Everyone on the roster that could play was in the scoring column. The Lady Rustlers would run through Community Christian College 90-30. They ended the night with 24 assists for the night. There were 5 players scoring in the double digits. Livia Knapp led the scoring column again with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists, Chevelle Boyd with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists, Ivana Bijic with 12 points, Kalista Niu with 12 points, and 6 rebounds, Alex Terrazas with 12 points, and our hometown favorite Alexxis Motisi finishing with double-digit rebounds 13 rebounds and 6 points.

Coach Fearing stated, "I'm proud of the way we showed what kind of team we can be. We are going to compete against the top teams this year and it should be a lot of fun to watch."

The Lady Rustlers head to Colorado Northwest Community College in Rangely, CO to play Tuesday, November 9th at 5:00 pm. The live stream is located on their website and you will have to pay to watch.
