The CWC women's team took the court on Friday, February 24th, honoring their three sophomores, as they faced off with #2 seed Northwest College. The game was pretty even for two quarters as the Rustlers went into the locker room down 42-40 at halftime. Both teams shot lights out, with the Rustlers finishing 52% of their shots in the first half behind Northwest's 54%, while both teams finished 7-13 from behind the arc. 

 

Coming out in the 2nd half, the Rustlers still shot well but not as well as the Trappers of NWC who finished the game shooting 51% overall to CWC's 47%. Ultimately, CWC fell to the Trappers 85-73. Leading the way for the Lady Rustlers was freshman standout Melanie Garcia with 21 points, followed by Criselle Mendoza who went 5-5 from deep. Sophomores Kalista Niu and Ivana Bijic finished with 14 and 11 apiece. 

 

The Rustlers take the court again on Tuesday, February 28th against Western Wyoming College for their last regular season matchup with a 5:30pm tip-off time.
