RIVERTON, Wyo. - The Central Wyoming College Women's Golf team captured the NJCAA Region 9 Championship this past week at the Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering, Nebraska on April 28 and 29.

The team's successful week was highlighted by freshman Isabell Salas, who finished third overall at the District tournament with a final score of +15 over two rounds of golf, and qualified for the NJCAA Division 1 national tournament.

"Those freshmen went out and pulled it together in the biggest fashion when the lights were the brightest," said Head Coach Mike Neuman. "Proud just doesn't seem to do my feelings justice. This is a start to something very special [at Central Wyoming College]."

The NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship will be held May 12-15 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kansas.
