Livestock Judging Team Competes in Houston

CWC Livestock Judging Team traveled to Houston TX over the weekend.  March 11th they competed at the Houston Livestock Rodeo collegiate Livestock Judging Contest.  They competed against other Junior Colleges in the Nation.  It was one of the largest competitions that we have competed in this year.  The students place 12 classes of Beef, Sheep, Swine and Goats.  With 8 sets of reasons on why they placed the classes the way they did.

Kaylee Cachelin competed against 134 other Sophomore students.
They broke the contest into several different categories.
Kaylee placed 3rd with a 4 way tie which was broken with the  reasons scores-  she ended up 6th overall in classes.  She was only 3 points from 1st place, dropping only 14 points out of 600 total points.
She was 16th overall in goats, 85th on Sheep and Goats combined.  99th in Swine.
This was Kaylee's last contest of eligibility for CWC since she ages out next year.  Sophomore's are only allowed 1 calendar year of eligibility once they place a card at a national contest.
Giana Biagoni was on the team but did not travel to the Houston Contest.  She is also a Sophomore this year and will be done this year also.  She had several great contests this year as well.
This was our first year having a team at CWC since the 1990's. Elie Walters will be coming back as a sophomore next year and will be able to mark cards at the national competitions.  She has been traveling and working out with me at the big contests and the smaller ones she judges as a freshman.
