Lady Rustlers Host Home Opener Against Region 9 Opponent
The CWC Women's Soccer team hosted their first home match of the season Friday, September 13. In this conference bout against Western Wyoming College, the Lady Rustlers came out right away with a strong first half, courtesy of Jersee Clapier and Mia Boll each taking turns netting goals of their own. Aubrey Moyer and Sienna Bodily provided great ball movement back and forth that allowed Clapier to get an open look at the goal. Clapier's unselfishness then resulted in an assist in the stat sheet, as she found Boll open in the middle of the penalty box with a solid pass for the second goal of the half.
Coming out of halftime only a goal behind, the already thinned out Lady Rustler lineup lost two more players to injury, totaling seven players missing from the active roster. This disadvantage, combined with a Western Wyoming College offense that was firing on all cylinders, saw WWC score 3 more goals in the second half, which secured a 6-2 victory for the Mustangs.
