Rustlers Encounter Tough Opponents in South Dakota

Central Wyoming College's women's soccer team encountered a tough day on the field during their spring season event on April 16, 2025, against teams from Black Hills State University and the Black Hills Rapids club team. The Rustlers were unable to secure a win in either of the day's contests, falling short in closely contested games.
In the first outing, the Rustlers squared off against Black Hills State University, where they were narrowly defeated with a final score of 2-1. The subsequent game against the Black Hills Rapids club didn't fare better, with the Rustlers again facing defeat with a scoreline of 3-1. Despite the challenging outcomes, the Rustlers displayed commendable effort and skill throughout the games.
"It was a close game, but unfortunately it just didn't go our way. There are definitely some things we can work on. We need to focus on finishing and keeping our composure. I'm confident the girls will bounce back and play better this weekend," remarked Head Coach Ben Nelson, reflecting on the team's performance and the lessons to be learned moving forward.
Looking ahead, the Rustlers are set to hit the road for their next games scheduled for April 26, in Pocatello, Idaho. The team will face Eastern Oregon University and Idaho State University, aiming to leverage the insights gained from their recent defeats to enhance their gameplay.
