CWC Women’s Soccer Sets Records with Utah Recruits and Freshman Class Ahead of 2025 Season

Riverton, WY – Central Wyoming College Women’s Soccer is entering the 2025 season with historic momentum, setting new program records for Utah recruits, freshman class size, and building off the most successful season in program history.
“We’ve never had this many players from Utah in one class — it’s a school record,” said Head Coach Benjamin Nelson. “This is also the largest freshman class we’ve ever signed. These players are coming from all across Utah, and a lot of them have already played together. That kind of chemistry is rare and really valuable.”
Returning Utah Standouts:
-
Sienna Bodily – All-Region player from Roy, UT
-
Jersee Clapier – All-Region player from Layton, UT
Incoming Freshmen – Utah Recruits:
-
Madilyn Shillig – Goalkeeper, Syracuse, UT
-
Alaya Malone – Goalkeeper, Vernal, UT
-
Addisen Rowley – Attacking Midfielder, Draper, UT
-
Destiny Mendoza – Outside Back, Tremonton, UT
-
Lacey Gunnels – Center Midfielder, Spanish Fork, UT
-
Lalei Stoker – Center Midfielder, Layton, UT
-
Claire Giles – Outside Back, Salt Lake City, UT
-
Bailey Brown – Outside Midfielder/Wing, Bountiful, UT
-

The 2024 season marked the best record in program history, and Coach Nelson believes 2025 will be even stronger.
“We’ve been the underdog for a long time, but that’s what makes us dangerous,” said Nelson. “With this group, I truly believe we can surprise a lot of people. We're deeper, faster, and more connected than we've ever been.”
Each player brings her own personality and skill set to the roster, but together, they represent a unified vision for the future of CWC Women’s Soccer.
“These girls come from competitive environments and know what it takes to win. Many of them have been teammates before, and that shared experience gives us a head start on building the team chemistry we need.”
