Rustlers go 1-1 at home
Last Friday and Saturday, the Central Wyoming College volleyball team had their first home games of the season, hosting Region IX conference foes Eastern Wyoming College and Laramie County Community College.

On Friday evening, the Rustlers picked up their first conference win of the season, beating the Lancers of EWC in three straight sets (25-11, 25-13, 25-23).  On the night, CWC had 86 attack attempts resulting in 33 kills.

The following afternoon, LCCC visited Rustler Gym with a #19 national ranking and an undefeated conference record.  After dropping the first set 19-25, CWC dominated the second 25-13.  The LCCC Golden Eagles gained the advantage in the third with a close 24-26 win.  The Rustlers made the match even with a 25-17 fourth-set win.  The fifth set was a tight one, with both teams knotted at 13-13 before LCCC scored the last two set and match points. Rustler Head Coach Kim Davis stated, "It was a tough loss but it showed my team that they can compete with anyone.  I think we are starting to gain confidence and we are starting to believe in ourselves."  Kaela Small, a freshman middle blocker from Brigham, Utah, said that she was proud of her team over the weekend.  "I am overall very proud of how we played and competed this weekend.  We pushed through unpredicted challenges and grew as a team," said Small.  "It was great to be on our home court and have so much community come and support us!"

The Rustlers (3-17 overall record, 1-3 conference) have two more conference matches this week as they host Northwest College on Thursday, October 5th and travel to Gillette College on Saturday, October 7th.  Thursday's match is scheduled for 7pm.
